Considering Dairy Effluent Use

Western Dairy has long held as a priority, its strategy of supporting WA dairy farmers to be ‘best practise’ dairy effluent managers. Our initiatives have included making funding available to assist effluent capture and re-use design and planning and, where possible to assist with capital upgrades. Whilst there are not currently funds available for effluent upgrades, we will always, where possible, make available our NRM specialist Sam Taylor to provide design and planning assistance. There are several documents and products that may assist dairy farmers contemplate effluent strategies. Below, we have listed a series of you-tube clips featuring farmers who have participated in Western Dairy effluent upgrade programs.

You may also wish to view our written case studies and the industry-recognised guide to best practise effluent management.
